on a foggy friday night these two eloped at the beach.
it wasn’t the wedding they planned on having. they had booked a brand new venue and were scheduled to be the first couple ever to get married there, but due to covid restrictions, they canceled their big wedding and headed to the beach.
it wasn’t the dress she thought she’d get married in, she found this one on facebook marketplace 48 hours prior.
it wasn’t the hair she thought she’d have done on her wedding day, she watched a youtube tutorial and did an updo herself.
nothing was as they had planned, but it was one of the most joy-filled, intimate, pure, Christ-centered celebrations of marriage I have ever witnessed.
as the fog rolled in they read their vows, with waves crashing behind them they shed quiet tears, they laughed and danced and shouted for joy, & they started off a lifelong marriage the best way possible: hand in hand standing before God and His creation.
weddings might be canceled, but love certainly is not.
"COVID affects a lot of things, but when you’re ready to get married- you gotta still get married. Eloping was so nice because it was just us, and those most close to us. God took care of the rest! We couldn’t have planned it better"
